Out of the Wood
Argh. Two weeks without the internet! How on earth did I survive? Well, alright, I saw plenty of the internet, but that’s not the point. The point is, it wasn’t on tap at all times. The point is, I couldn’t possibly have been paying much attention to ATR.

Ah, technobabble. Also known as ‘phlebotonin’ if you’re a writer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’m sure that to the casual viewer, all technobabble is equal.

Two seasons of the new Doctor Who down. I thought I’d share three of my favourite moments of the past season, and my three top hopes for season three. Actually, let’s say four. I’ve got too many.

Fandom, You’re Dead to Me
I had a moment on the train today that warmed the very cockles of my Who fan heart. A skinny little kid on the train was reading Doctor Who novels and trying to interest a cute schoolgirl in them. Fool that he was… he gave her ‘Last of the Gadarene’ by Mark ‘Idiot’s Lantern’ Gatiss. That’s not going to impress a girl.

The musical, City of Angels, is going brilliantly. Well, pretty good. We’re a little less than two weeks out and everything feels like it’s coming together. Good cast, good atmosphere, and most importantly quite a few of us seem talented too.

While watching season four of The X-Files — which is quite good so far; the show continually confounds my usual ‘2-3 are the best seasons’ theory. Not that it’s really been awesome yet.

Today Tonight
Last August, the ABC’s Media Watch highlighted a Today Tonight report on young muslims for editing together a series of interviews dishonestly. Though it was obvious that the vibe of the story had been twisted in that way that Today Tonight does so well, one interview’s cut in particular really irritated me.

Sorry about the downtime, folks. Well, sorry to those that noticed it. I’ve been using the time to sit around on my arse vaguely studying. “Vaguely studying” is when you’ve got all the study material in front of you, and occasionally you draw half a concept map, or attempt to summarise some points.
