The short version of this post? The pictures from our trip to Canada have been relaunched with new spiffiness. The long version is a bit dull and details a n00b’s struggle with javascript.

Return to Oz
My travels are over and I’m back in a country where despite the many apocalyptic events happening throughout the world, a fast horse apparently deserves the first ten minutes of every news bulletin.

India, the story so far
This India place is pretty hectic. Appartently they have over a billion people here, and I think about half of them have asked me if I want to ride in their rickshaw. After about a week here I am slowly getting in to the Indian swing of things.

London Town
Over the last week I have found myself walking around London laughing to myself at the ludicrous contradictions of the place. It is one of the most cosmopolitan places in the world but is at times still so very British.

New York - A review
As my time in London is rapidly drawing to a close, it is probably time I filed my New York review, so here it is.

Red State, Blue State
Almost everyone I spoke to in the States, in two of the most liberal cities in the country — from bartenders to members of country/hip-hop fusion bands (a genre that, should it ever gain any success will no doubt be dubbed hick-hop) to homeless gay Irishmen — was at pains to make it clear what an evil man they thought W was.

NY, NY!!
Ok, I’m in an internet cafe with fifteen minutes to type so you can expect a less rambling entry than normal.

San Francisco - A summary
In many ways San Francisco is very like Melbourne. They are both bayside cities with temperate climates, no particularly exciting tourist attractions (OK, SF has Alcatraz but that is about it), but a very pleasant, laid-back, comfortable atmosphere.

Days 3 - 7
Unfortunately my time in San Francisco is already drawing to a close. As you might guess I have spent a fair chunk of the last few days at concerts and in record shops.

Day 2
I think I just died and went to heaven. I just spent an entire day in a CD shop and still didn’t manage to completely explore it.

Around the world in 50ish days - Day 1
So, here I am in the US of A. The first thing that struck me as I went through immigration at LAX was how many employees there were.

2005?
Oh great. It’s a new year so I guess I’d better accomplish something. Hmm. What to do. In the meantime, I am coming to Melbourne on the 28th of Feb at 15:10 by aeroplane.

Tikka Masala
I’ve put (working) comments up around grapefruit now, and removed the link to the rather useless forum. Unless anyone has any major objections? No?

Room 205
Ah, the joys of hostel accomodation. If you want to really save money, stay in a place with 10 beds to a room. You’re bound to have at least one really irritating person that way.

I’m at Calgary Bus Station, and it’s quite cold. Andy and I just walked through some snow to get here.

Canada
Damn these US customs people. I had no problem at all but they’re so INTIMIDATING that I sweated more fluid than I thought was possible.
